This West Suffolk College Haas CNC course is ideal for people with no prior knowledge, as it provides practical hands-on training and focuses on building technical skills and knowledge with a hands-on approach.
You will gain a Haas endorsed, West Suffolk College Certificate, so your qualification will be held in high esteem by industry as the sector standard giving you a head start to gain employment with one of the many local employers that West Suffolk College works with.
The course is open to both school leavers and those looking to change or further their careers. It is also suitable as a refresher course for updating engineering skills and for those wanting to learn new skills.
You will learn how to work effectively and safely. In addition to the practical skills you will develop, you will also improve your employability through the enhancement of your communication, numeracy and information technology abilities.

A sound understanding of mathematics and basic English
Please note: you will be required to complete an aptitude test and successful interview.
Subject to successful interview and completion of this course, you may progress to higher levels of study within engineering in the college, apprenticeship or employment.
Completion of this course of study and further courses can provide a stepping stone and lead to modern apprenticeships or employment in a wide range of engineering and technology enabled sectors.
You will be invited to discuss your application with us and your application, aptitude, English and maths assessments and interview will form part of the selection process.
If you are able to demonstrate a keen interest and aptitude for engineering and are willing and have the ability to develop your practical and hands-on CNC machining skills, this is the course for you.
